Education for children and adolescents

We hold classes for organised school groups.

Our offer contains both seasonal and all-year lessons. During the classes, children will use props of traditional culture (old everyday objects, gifts of nature used in the old days, e.g. used for play, folk medicine, etc.). But also utilise cultural texts (games, songs, proverbs, dialect texts) as part of a scheduled programme that activates all participants, taking place in selected spaces of the Ethnocentre.

Regional lesson for preschool groups (children aged 5/6):

• Like Grandma and Grandpa – children’s toys.
  Short lesson (45 min.) – Exploring rural life through the eyes of a child, including daily chores and pleasures – games and toys. / price: 15 PLN per participant.

Long lesson (90 min.) – Divided into two groups children explore rural life through the eyes of a child, including daily chores and pleasures – games and toys (45 min.) and take part in a traditional handicraft workshop. (45 min.). / price: 30 PLN per participant.

Regional lesson for school groups:

• seasonal lessons: in December and January, we invite you to show you how the Christmas and New Year traditions of Podkarpacie look. In March and April, we offer lessons on the spring and Easter customs of our area.
• all-year lessons in a selected variant, combined with a tour around the Ethnocentre. A great chance to use old props and listen to cultural texts (legends, songs).

- A tale wove with linen - the secrets of traditional handcraft.

Brief lesson (60 min.) - participants visit the Ethnocentre, learning about the history of the linen industry in the Krosno region: PLN 15 per participant.

Extended lesson (120 min.) - divided into two groups, students visit the Ethnocentre, learning about the history of the linen industry in Krosno and the surrounding area (60 min.), and become initiated into the basics of weaving during traditional handcraft workshops (60 min.) / price: PLN 30 per participant.

- The world of fairy tales and legends from the Krosno region.

Brief lesson (60 min.)  - Students visit the Ethnocentre, getting to know the world of fairy tales and legends from the Krosno region / price: PLN 15 per participant.

Extended lesson (120 min.) - Students divided into two groups, visit the Ethnocentre, getting to know the world of fairy tales and legends from the vicinity of Krosno (60 min.), and participate in traditional handcraft workshops, or in culinary workshops / price: PLN 30 per participant.

- Rise bread, rise! - the secrets of Pogórzanie (Polish Uplanders) cuisine.

Brief lesson (60 min.) - students learn about soil cultivation and bread-baking techniques / price: PLN 15 per participant.

Extended lesson (120 min.) - students divided into two groups,  learn about soil cultivation and bread-baking techniques (60 min.) and participate in baking workshops (60 min.) / price: PLN 30 per participant.

- What a herb! – Plants in folk medicine.

Short lesson (60 min.) – Students learn about traditions related to herbal medicine. / price: 15 PLN per participant.

Long lesson (120 min.) – Divided into two groups students learn about traditions related to herbal medicine. (60min.) and take part in a traditional handicraft workshop. (60 min.) / price: 30 PLN per participant.

School-age children can participate in the classes. Each of the classes is held from Tuesday to Friday, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
